Training Smarter, Not Harder with Grind

As a competitive CrossFitter, Sofia Martinez thrives on intensity. Heavy lifts, fast times, constant challenges — that’s her world. But the constant push was starting to take a toll on her body, leading to recurring injuries and inconsistent progress. When she discovered Sisu, she found a way to train with more awareness and resilience.

Q: Sofia, what challenges were you facing before Sisu?
In CrossFit, you’re constantly chasing heavier lifts and faster times. I loved the grind, but I kept running into nagging injuries. I pushed too hard, too often, and I was starting to worry that my body wouldn’t hold up long-term.

Q: How did Sisu change your approach?
It gave me visibility into how my body was handling the stress. I could actually see when I was overtraining. That was a wake-up call. I started planning my sessions around recovery — not just intensity. I still train hard, but it’s smarter now.

Q: What results have you seen?
I’m stronger than ever and more consistent. I’ve avoided injuries for months, which is huge for me. My lifts are going up, my WOD times are improving, and I’m not sidelined by pain anymore.

Q: What’s the biggest takeaway for athletes like you?
That recovery isn’t weakness. With Sisu, I realized that the smartest athletes aren’t the ones who train the most — they’re the ones who train with the most awareness.
